If you are missing Indian Food especially North Indian then this is the right place to come. The Chicken and Mutton curries are fabulous and mixes well with Chole and Potato Vegetables. The Chai Tea is a must order with Pakora and Samosa.

Love this place. If you want quick tasty food this is the place to go for Indian food in Rome in my opinion. Only issue is that, as it is so quick, the food doesn’t always come out hot. I feel if they heated the precooked tasty curries it would be five stars all day long, Jeff. Also it can’t be a five star when you eat with plastic cutlery...not because I’m picky, just because of the planet ya know!? It’s 2020. The guy running the place seems to be competing for the coveted prize of most miserable man alive. How he works on hospitality is frankly baffling. But who cares really. I don’t go there for the charm.

I had a vegetarian Thali with four different dishes a Chai and a Gulab Jamun. The food was excellent. After three months of Spaghetti in Italy, I was in spicy food heaven. Channa Daal was so hot, I needed seven tissues to handle the running nose. Will be back tomorrow.

Very good Indian experience. Chicken was good and served in a good amount of sauce and rice (on a side) and cucumber slices to break the spiciness). Samosas were amazing but they lacked sauce on top (sweet and sour sauce). Overall very good.

Janta - Indian Fast Food, nestled in the heart of Rome on Via Mamiani, 11, offers a genuine taste of North Indian cuisine that stands out amid the Italian culinary landscape. This compact eatery specializes in delivering quick, flavorful dishes that celebrate traditional Indian spices and cooking techniques with an authenticity that both locals and travelers deeply appreciate.

What truly makes Janta shine is its menu rich in classic North Indian fare. From hearty chicken and mutton curries to vibrant vegetarian thalis, each dish tells a story of robust flavors and well-balanced spice. The Chole and potato vegetable combos provide comforting textures and familiar warmth, while samosas and pakoras bring that much-loved crispness and savory depth to the table. The facility to request Jain food marks an inclusive approach, catering thoughtfully to dietary preferences without compromising on taste.

A highlight unanimous among patrons is the chai—a proper Indian tea brewed with care, hitting all the right notes of warmth and spice. It complements the food perfectly, especially when paired with sweet, syrupy gulab jamun or salty snacks like pakoras. The attention to authentic chai preparation sets Janta apart, proving it's not just about meals but about creating a complete sensory experience.

While the fast-food format ensures speedy service, some feedback points to the challenge of serving piping hot curries every time. Yet, even with this minor flaw, the quality and flavor consistently impress. The portions are generous, sauces abundant, and the balance between spice and savoriness is expertly maintained. Even after months of Italian pasta, this place offers a welcomed, fiery relief that leaves you eagerly anticipating your next visit.

In summary, Janta - Indian Fast Food is a gem for those craving authentic, hearty Indian dishes on the go in Rome. Its dedication to traditional flavors, inclusive menu options, and authentic chai make it a destination worth exploring. Despite the unpretentious setup and fast pace, the soul of Indian cooking is very much alive here, making it a must-visit for any Indian food enthusiast in the city.
